96. This Contractor shall furnish and install a
sounding board cyclorama made of two inch by two inch by one-quarter inch
(2" x 2" x 1/4") angles.
Frame to be of size and shape as shown on the drawings. The top section of the frame shall be trussed
by diagonal members and vertically the frame shall be divided into four
(4'0") foot sections and braced with eight (8") inch horizontal
stiffening plates. On the back of the
frame and for the corners there shall be angle iron braces to hold the frame
square and rigid. On the face of the
frame there shall be wood strips of two inch by seven-eighth inch (2" x
7/8") white pine spaced four (4'0") feet in all directions. On these wood strips there shall be Masonite
Presdwood covering neatly butted and all joints shall be puttied and
sand-papered smooth. Then the entire
face of the cyclorama shall be covered with Z40 scenery linen applied with
French varnish and shall present a smooth flat surface ready for panting. The painting of the cyclorama shall be done
by OTHERS.
97. This Contractor shall furnish and install as
directed the shells for the various star effects on the back of the cyclorama.
98. The cyclorama shall be raised and lowered by
electrically operated rigging which shall consist of twelve (12") sixteen
(16") inch machine turned ball bearing loft blocks, one (1) twenty-four
(24") inch machine turned head block, mounted on solid shaft with two (2)
double roller pillow blocks. A seven and
one-half (7-1/2 H.P.) horsepower electric hoist with magnetic brake, similar in
design to that specified for the Protective Fire Curtain shall be connected to
the head block by a sprocket and roller chain.
The cyclorama shall be hung on twelve (12) one-half (1/2") inch
steel cables attached to the frame by drop forged eyes and to the counterweight
frame by three-quarter (3/4") inch turnbuckles. The counterweight frame and counterweight
tracks shall be the same as specified for the Protective Fire Curtain.
98A. This Contractor
shall furnish the motor, control panel, limit switches and push buttons only. All other electrical work shall be by OTHERS.
